Diary of a Pickle Eater.

Baltimore, bitches.

I’m going to challenge myself to write in this damn blog once a day this week. About anything.

I’ve been ridiculously lazy about my food blog in the last year. It’s kind of pathetic. I’ve seen other food bloggers start from teeny beginnings and cultivate huge followships  in the time that I’ve been slowly, slowly slacking off. Dinnerlove very quickly became this thing that I never intended it to be. I initially started it thinking that I could catalogue all of my recipes in one place. I wanted it to be very casual-more of a, “this is what I made for dinner today!” rather than “look at this awesome thing I did OH AND YOU CAN MAKE IT TOO!” But I almost immediately came down with food blog insecurity. There were many more blogs who appeared to actually PLAN out their posts. I started to plan out my posts. I made way too many baked goods. I gained like 10 pounds. I moved to Boston. I got busy. Taking pictures of food no longer became my singular life objective.

Yeah, it’s still fun sometimes, and I don’t intend on letting the blog drop altogether, but sheesh. I’m getting tired of planning posts all the time. It’s really annoying to make sure I cook during daylight hours in order to get good pictures.

In other news, I officially moved to Baltimore on July 1. I don’t do much other than sit in the apartment all day and hang out with my cat. I occasionally run errands, but it’s hot as hell outside (WAY worse than Boston ever was). I have about 12 boxes that I haven’t bothered to unpack because there is no space to put those things. This apartment is actually bigger than my last one, but it does not have as much storage, and the kitchen is pitiful. Seeing as most of my stuff is kitchen stuff, I have a serious problem. I need to get creative about space but I’m getting a little depressed about it. Plus, again, the kitchen might be the hottest room in this apartment. I stand in there for 30 seconds to get a glass of water and I break out in sweat. Sigh.

Today I have challenged myself to at LEAST unpack my shoes. I will worry about my kitchen shit later. Once I’ve made the holy pilgrimage to IKEA.
